At Last Away Win

Posted by Johnny on Saturday, 21 March 2009

Crewe 2 Leeds United 3

Leeds scored three first half goals and survived a second half fight-back to secure their first away win since January 17th against ten-man Crewe. With Jermaine Beckford suspended Simon Grayson gave a debut to Liam Dickinson up front and he put in a great 70 minutes before being replaced by USA's Mark Grella. The game changed on 17 minutes when Crewe's Billy Jones saw red for dissent after just being booked before Neil Kilkenny drilled in Leeds opener from 25 yards.

Luciano Becchio headed in from a Snodgrass cross on 30 mins and Robert Snodgrass himself ran clear to add a third as Leeds capitalised on their numerical advantage. Julian Baudet headed in from a corner and Tom Pope stooped to nod for Crewe but Leeds held on for the win and an invalueable three points.
