33rd Goal For Beckford Not Out
Hartlepool United 0 Leeds United 1
Leeds were without the suspended Fabian Delph and the injured Robert Snodgrass (ankle)but did enought to earn a merited three points and continue their recent good run with the play offs in sight. Jermaine Beckford scored his 33nd goal of the season after an hour, turning well on Ben Parker's cross before slotting home into the bottom corner.
The goal was deserved after Bradley Johnson hit the bar with a powerful free-kick and Sam Sodje found the angle of the bar and post with a header. Pools had limited chances, Joel Porter forcing a save from Casper Ankergren. Now with one home game to go lets hope we go out with a bang next weekend at home to Northampton which will give us confidence for the dreaded plays offs for the third season running.
