The Late Michael (Nuggy) Nihill

Posted by Johnny on Monday, 11 May 2009

It was with a saddedned heart we learnt of the death of Michael ( know to one and all as Nuggy) Nihill on Saturday morning last. Michael who's son Paul is one of the founders members of Ennislusc was always to be seen when Leeds were on TV and lending his support for the cause. How ironic it was that his passing coincided with Leeds playing Millwall in the play offs on Saturday morning last.

Of course Michael was a true townie in every sense of the word having been born and raised in Francis Street alongside Cusack Park. One of his great sporting passions was the GAA and he supported his beloved Eire Og and Clare through thick and thin. Never was he so happy than when Clare made the breakthrough in 1995, his only regret he often told me was that his great friend Aidan (no if's or buts vote for The Tut) Tuttle did'nt live to see the day.

To his wife Maureen sons Michael, Sean and Paul ,daughter Claire we offer our deepest sympathies. Rest in Peace Michael one of life's true gentlemen.
