Make That Five

Colchester United 1 Leeds United 2

Jermaine Beckford netted the winner as Leeds maintained their 100% record with victory at Colchester. Leeds took the lead two minutes after the break when Bradley Johnson headed in Robert Snodgrass's free-kick. Johnson has got a new lease of life this season and with Grayson playing him on the left side of midfield he seems to be thriving in this new role. Obviously playing left back as was previously was the case limited his goalscoring chances but he's been a revelation in his new position.

Ex Charlton forward Kevin Lisbie equalised from the penalty spot after he had won the kick himself when he was tugged by Rui Marques. However Becks struck the decisive goal for Leeds when he converted from six yards after Alan Maybury's ( an ex Leeds player himself) defensive header had fallen short. Hopefully with the transfer window closing on the 1st September we will be able to hold onto Beckford as it's his goals that could propel us to the Championship.
