Jonathan Howson and Mike Grella grabbed the goals to send Leeds into the second round of the FA Cup against fellow League 1 side Oldham. Midfielder Johnny Howson set the League One leaders on their way with a powerful first-half strike which took a slight deflection before flying in from 20 yards.

That came moments after Oldham's best chance of the match when winger Joe Colbeck failed to control the ball with the goal at his mercy. And Leeds controlled matters before Grella wrapped it up in injury time, turning in teenage left backs Aidan White's cross.Midfielder Michael Doyle received his fifth booking and so missed the Johnstons Paint game live on Sky Tuesday night vs Grimsby Town.
