Leeds United 1 Wycombe 1

Garry Waddock's Wycombe came to Elland Road second from the bottom of League 1 and despite conceding a goal after four minutes they can consider themselves very unlucky not to gain all three points. Johnny Howson's shot from 22 yards crept under keeper Scott Shearer and it looked like Leeds were well on their way to a easy victory but Wycombe twice hit the upright before half time through Jon Paul Pittman and Scott Davis.

Bradley Johnson did have a header cleared off the line but Leeds struggled to repeat the fluency they showed at Old Trafford and Wycombe equalised in the 63rd minute when Davies long pass to Pittman allowed the striker to cut in from the left leaving Richard Naylor in his wake and fire past Casper Ankergren. Beckford had a chance in injury time but the transfer requested striker was off the mark.

So it was more a point gained in the end for a below par Leeds who have now to keep an eye on Norwich who are up to second and closing fast on the league leaders.
